An official response from Bestcare Manpower Services
Business needs change. A role that was clearly defined at the start of an outsourcing contract may look quite different six months later. At Bestcare Manpower Services, we have built a structured approach for managing role scope changes that keeps the arrangement fair, compliant, and operationally effective.
Why Scope Changes Happen
Scope changes during an outsourcing contract are common and not inherently problematic. They may arise from business growth, restructuring, new projects, technology adoption, or the natural evolution of a client’s operational requirements. What matters is not whether scope changes occur, but how they are managed.
Our Framework for Managing Scope Changes
Identifying the Change When a client needs an outsourced employee to take on significantly different or additional responsibilities, the first step is to formally notify Bestcare. This notification should describe the nature of the new duties, the expected duration, and whether the change is temporary or permanent.
Assessing the Impact Bestcare reviews the proposed change against the original job description and contract. We assess whether the change constitutes a minor adjustment within the current role grade or a substantive expansion that warrants reclassification, renegotiation of remuneration, or an updated employment agreement.
Agreement and Documentation All agreed scope changes are documented in a formal amendment to the outsourcing contract. The employee is briefed and asked to acknowledge the updated terms. This protects the client from claims of unilateral contract variation and ensures the employee’s rights are respected.
Remuneration Review Where additional responsibilities materially increase the value or complexity of the role, Bestcare will recommend a corresponding adjustment to the employee’s compensation. Clients should anticipate this as part of responsible workforce management.
What We Do Not Allow
Bestcare does not permit clients to expand an outsourced employee’s role scope unilaterally without notification and agreement. Doing so creates legal exposure for the client and undermines the trust of the employee. Our contracts include clear provisions that protect against scope creep being used to extract more value without fair compensation.
“Roles grow — and that is a good thing. But growth must be managed with integrity. At Bestcare, we make sure that when the work changes, the conversation happens, the paperwork follows, and the worker is treated fairly every step of the way.”
